उन पर फिल्में भी बनाई गई हैं । द न्यूयॉर्क टाइम्स ने उन्हें ' भारत के इतिहास में सबसे ज्यादा बिकने वाला अंग्रेज़ी नॉवेलिस्ट ' बताया है ।
टाइम पत्रिका ने उन्हें ' दुनिया के सौ सर्वाधिक प्रभावशाली लोगों ' की फेहरिस्त में शामिल किया है और अमेरिका की फास्ट कंपनी ने उन्हें ' दुनिया के शीर्ष सौ रचनात्मक लोगों ' में से एक माना है ।

Revolution:2020 Chetan Bhagat has written five bestselling novels – Five Point Someone (2004), One Night @ the Call Center (2005), The Three Mistakes of My Life (2008), 2 States: The Story of My Marriage (2009) and Revolution 2020 (2011). Chetan's books have remained in the list of bestsellers since its release.
Movies have also been made on them. The New York Times has described him as the 'best selling English novelist in the history of India'.
Time magazine named him one of the "100 Most Influential People in the World" and Fast Company of America named him one of the "Top 100 Creative People in the World".
Chetan writes for India's top English and Hindi newspapers and his focus remains on the youth and development problems of the country.
He is also a motivational speaker. Chetan left his International Investment Banking career in the year 2009 to devote his full time to writing and trying to bring about a change in the country.
He lives in Mumbai with his wife Anusha, his IIM-A ex-classmate, and two twin sons, Shyam and Ishaan.
